British Columbia will launch three new international graduate PNP streams in 2025

Starting in January 2025, British Columbia (B.C.) will introduce three new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) streams for international graduates. These streams will be available to recent graduates from Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate programs at eligible post-secondary institutions in B.C.

Details of the New Streams:

  1. Bachelor’s Stream:
    • For graduates with a Bachelor’s degree.
    • Requires a full-time, permanent job offer in any occupation.
  2. Master’s Stream:
    • For graduates with a Master’s degree in any field.
    • Requires a full-time job offer lasting at least one year in a skilled occupation.
  3. Doctorate Stream:
    • For PhD graduates and candidates.
    • Also requires a full-time job offer.

Key Information:

  • The minimum language requirement for all three streams is a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 8.
  • Graduates of diploma and certificate programs are not eligible for these streams but may qualify for other BCPNP pathways.
  • Job offers do not need to be in specific occupations, but they must meet the criteria for each stream.
  • There is no approved program list, meaning graduates from any degree program can apply if they meet the criteria.
  • Applications will be evaluated within each stream, ensuring that Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate applicants do not compete against each other for Invitations to Apply (ITAs).

General Eligibility Criteria for All Streams:

  • Must have obtained a degree, diploma, or certificate from a Canadian post-secondary institution within the last three years.
  • Must have a qualifying full-time job offer from an employer in B.C. The job must be permanent unless it is in a priority technology occupation.
  • The job offer must be in a National Occupation Classification (NOC) TEER category 1, 2, or 3.
  • Must be qualified to work in their chosen occupation in B.C.
  • Must have a wage offer that meets B.C. wage standards for their job.
  • Must prove the ability to support themselves and any dependents.
  • Must meet minimum language requirements.

Skills Immigration in British Columbia:

  • The BCPNP uses a points-based system to rank and select candidates based on work experience, language proficiency, job offer wage, and job location.
  • After receiving an ITA, candidates have 30 days to submit their application, pay the application fee, and provide all required documents.

These new streams aim to provide international graduates with more opportunities to gain Canadian permanent residence and improve their employment prospects in B.C.
