IRCC Increases Permanent Residence Fees

On April 30, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will be adjusting fees for all permanent residence applications, including those for economic, permit holder, family, and humanitarian categories.

In 2020, IRCC raised permanent residence fees to address inflation for the first time since 2002. It was then announced that fees would be reviewed every two years to align with inflation rates.

The Canadian Government advocates for a financially sustainable method of funding government initiatives, whereby the majority of expenses are borne by those who utilize the services and directly gain from them.
